The picture illustrates the steps involved in building a hand-made violin.
Overall, the back and front part of the violin are carved out from a thin wooden piece, following which a bass bar, ribs, scroll, neck and additional parts are attached, after a f-hole is made on the front part, to build a complete violin.
Initially, a thin wooden piece is used to cut out the front and back parts that make the body of the violin. On the front part, a cutting tool is utilised in engraving the f-hole, and to which a bass bar is glued.
Ribs, which are fixed to hold the front and the back part together, are shaped fro unshaped rib strips using a heating tool prior to glueing. The upper part of the violin, which includes the neck and the scroll, is joint with the previously built body of the violin. Some additional parts are added to the assembled violin followed by a varnish which completes the violin making process by hand.
