A handmade violin making process is depicted in the diagrams provided.
The process contains nine steps and various tools and equipments are used to assemble the instrument.
Initially, from a rectangular thin piece of wood, the shape of the violin body is cut out using a saw. A violin should contain a front and a back part, therefore both parts are shaped and removed from the wood. Additionally, the dorsel part of the violin contains an f-hole that is made using a cutting tool. Now, with the help of a glue, a brass bar is stuck to the centre of the violin. Then, by using a heating tool, the unshaped rib strips are shaped. Furthermore, using the glue, the ribs, the front and back part of the violin is assembled. This is known as the body of the violin. In the interim, a scroll attached to the neck is mounted to the violin. Subsequently, some additional parts are attached to the assembled violin and is varnished. Finally, after these tedious processes we have a completed violin.
