The diagram illustrates a detailed process of building a violin from scratch by hand along with the raw materials required.
At first, a thin rectangular wooden piece is cut into the shape of a violin using a saw to get the front part of the violin, now you would have both the front and the back pieces of the instrument. Once you are ready with the initial parts, a f-hole is cut into the front piece towards the edge near the narrow area using a cutting tool, the same is achieved on the opposite side as well. Later on, a bass bar is glued to the center of the front part making it symmetric.
Five flat unshaped ribs are placed on a heating tool and are molded into the required shapes and are then attached in between the front and the back of the violin using glue to fix them into a closed body. Furthermore, a neck with a scroll extended over one end is fixed in the body of the violin with the extended side pointing away from the main body.
Now, the instrument is fit with the other additional components. Finally, once the violin is completely assembled with all the parts intact, it is polished with varnish to make it shine and ready to use.
