The diagram illustrates how olive oil is manufactured.
Overall, there are 8 stages in the process, beginning with the collection of olives and ending with the delivery of olive oil to stores.
In the first step of the process, workers use rakes to harvest olives from trees, which are then stored in a vat for 2 to 3 days. Afterward, the olives are transported along a conveyor belt while being washed with cool water. Next, the olives drop into a large vat, where they are crushed using hammers. This step results in olive stones being separated into a container, while olive paste is sent for further processing.
In the later stages of the process, a hydraulic press is used to push olive paste against a filter, creating oil. This oil then flows into a centrifuge where it is spun, separating out water. Subsequently, the resulting oil is bottled before finally being delivered to stores.
