The illustration demonstrates stages of how to manufacture olive oil.
Overall, this process includes 8 main stages, starting with olives being raked from trees to make oil and finishing with delivering bottles of oil to detail outlets.
Concerning the stages of transforming raw materials, farmers initially collect olives from trees by a rake before storing them in a vat for around 2 to 3 days. After that, they are washed in cool water to be clean and ready for the crushing stages, where olives will be crushed by hammers and then separated into 2 parts. Consequently, the first part is olive stones, which then will be thrown into a container, and the second one is olive paste being transmitted through a pipe to a dual- function machine, where it will be pressed and filtered to extract oil and be ready for the next stages.
In terms of the packaging stages, filtered oil then will be drawn into a centrifuge, which spins and separates oil, and water is also added in this stage. Finally, oil flows through a pipe to bottles, and then be transported by a lorry to stores.
