This diagram illustrates the step-by-step process of how cans are collected and processed to be recycled and reused. Used cans are collected, cleaned, sorted out, and compressed before starting the complex process of recycling.
Overall, there are seven steps involved in the completion of the recycling process of the used cans, wherein it could be observed that several stages, the process of shredding, heating, rolling, and recycling, involve the use of machines.
First, used steel cans from the garbage bins are collected by a truck and taken to the recycling facility wherein the cans undergo the process of cleaning, sorting, compressing, and shredding into smaller pieces. Then, with the use of a heating machine, the compressed metals are melted at high temperatures.
After which, the melted metal is molded into 2.5mm to 6mm thick rolled steel. Which is then used as a raw material to produce shaped cans. The recycled cans which contain 74 percent recycled materials are prepared for reusing and are designed with brand logos.
To conclude, the illustration provides clearly and comprehensively, an interesting depiction of the process of recycling aluminum cans.
