📜 Recycling Process of Aluminium Cans – IELTS Task 1 Report
The diagram shows the recycling process of aluminium cans, starting from disposal until they are reused. Overall, it is a repeating cycle that includes collection, treatment, melting, rolling, and reuse. In the UK, about 74% of aluminium cans are recycled.
First, people throw used cans into special recycling bins. These cans are then collected by trucks and taken to recycling centres. There, they are cleaned, sorted, shredded, and compressed before moving to the next stage.
After that, the compressed cans are heated and melted into raw aluminium. The melted aluminium is rolled into sheets that are between 2.5 and 6 millimetres thick. These sheets are then used to make new cans, which return to shops and are used again by consumers.
In summary, aluminium can recycling is a closed cycle that reduces waste and saves resources by turning old cans into new products.
