The diagram below illustrates the process of how cement is produced and the production of concrete for building purposes.
Overall, cement is primarily made of two materials (limestone and clay) and there are four main steps in the process before it is finally packaged to the bags. In contrast, making concrete for building construction needs additional materials besides cement, and each material has its own specific measurements.
In the cement-making process, limestone and clay are firstly crushed in the crusher machine to make it become powder, which will be mixed in the mixer. After the powder is already well-mixed, it goes to the next step where the powder is rotated in a heated tube called rotating heater. The last step is it go to the grinder that will finally become a cement and ready to be packaged.
For the building purposes, the specific measurements are needed to make concrete. There are 4 materials that should be prepared, such as gravel 50%, sand 25%, cement 15%, and 10% of water. Those are the proportion for each materials which will be mixed together in the concrete mixer.
