The maps illustrate the devoelopments which took place in the coastal town of Lafeside from 2000 to 2009.
Overall, a comparision of the two maps reveals a complete transformation from a largely
rural to a mainly urban area.
In the year 2000, the town was a much greener residential area with a large number of trees and individual houses, but during the next 9 years, the town saw a number of significant changes. The most noticeable is that all of the trees in the south of the lake were shopped down, with all houses near the green zone being demolished to make way for expansion industrial complex. Moreover, a new industrial zone with offices and cinema sprang up around the school and residental area
In contrast, only a few trees in the north of the river remained. While a new university building was established in the west. A final change includes the dessappearance of old town and derelict werehouse as it had been replaced by essential amenities, such as car park and shopping centre, which remained in their original locations
