The two maps illustrate the development of Foster Road, which is found between 84th and 85th Avenue.
Overall, the sidewalks has been widdened to serve more people and add new features. Similarly the road has been upgraded to accommodate additional mode of transportation and become up to standard.
Before the reconstruction, the road had four lanes and narrow pedistrian walk-ways on both sides. However, afterwards the renovation its lanes were reduced to just three, and the fourth lane was converted into two bicycle lanes on the right and left side of the road. Additionally, a curb was added to the middle lane and a zibra crossing along with it to make it easy for the pedistrians to cross the road.
Furthermore, the walk-way was widdened and several street trees were added. In general, after the change the road is more accessible to people using bicycles, and walkable because of the wide sidewalks and trees. It is also more standardized due to the added crossing.
