The maps illustrate Foster Road in the past and how it is intended to be restructured in the future. Overall, several improvements will make the area more walkable and green, thanks to the installation of larger sidewalks, trees along them and a new crossing.
The most evident change is the presence of street trees on the two sides of the sidewalks, while in the past there was no nature in the area. A great way to create shadow during sunny days and fresher temperatures. Additionally, while people did not have much space to walk along Foster Road in the past, a new crossing and a future construction of wider sidewalks will make the road more walkable, even for people with dogs, children or bikes. Regarding the latter ones, bicycle lines are expected to be built, right next to the sidewalk.
In conclusion, several improvements will make Foster Road, between SE 84th and 85th Avenue, more walkable and larger. Wider spaces for people who enjoy going by walk instead of driving cars, pleasant for the presence of numerous trees.
