The two maps demonstrate the changes that took place in the layout of the city park.
Overall, the park was developed significantly, with the introduction of several new facilities and the reduction of green space.
There was a main road surrounding and dividing the park into two areas. Many cycle and footpath were added on this road in order to make it more convenient for people to commute around the park. On the left hand side of the map, the wood was partially cleared to make way for facilities such as benches, barbecue areas and a cafe, which serve for leisure and picnic activities.
On the remaining areas, the green space was reduced along with the removing of flowerland and the cafe, while the new tennis court was built in the bottom left corner, and the boating lake in the middle of it was replaced by a swimming pool, making this area mainly focus on sports services.
