The given maps compare changes in the ground of Felixstone in the UK from 1967 to 2001.
Overall, Felixstone experienced a significant development change over 34 years, which is marked with urbanization, industrialization and improvement of service.
The shops along the right side of the high street were converted into apartments, while the golf course and shops on the left remained unchanged. As a result of this shop’s infrastructure destruction, to the northeast of the map stands a more complex system including a swimming pool, a hotel and tennis courts, replacing the previously large farmland.
The forest and dunes located in the bottom left of Felixstone showed no sign of change; however, new wind turbines were added between the dunes and the sea. The hotel and the cafe were relocated to the right, making space for a car park. The entire bottom right of the map was transformed into two beaches: a public beach that was previously the pier and marina area, and a private beach that replaced a fish market.
