The maps depict the layout of Felixstone in the United Kingdom in 1967 and its configuration in 2001.
Overall, this area is situated by the southern coast and features a main road running from west to east, dividing the location into two distinct zones. Over the past 38 years, Felixstone has undergone significant changes – particularly in the southern area – with the addition of new tourism facilities, whereas the western area appears to have remained largely unchanged.
The high street was placed in the center-northern section. In the eastern side of the street was the series of shops that was replaced by a row of apartments with larger scale, while a few shops were only added to the chain of shops on the opposite side. The farm in the east was destroyed completely to make way for a hotel complex, including a swimming pool, two tennis courts and accommodations. Notably, the golf course was still retained.
Looking south of the main road, where recorded a significant change. The east fish market was demolished to construct a private beach, which occupied one-third of the southern area. A public beach was established to the west of the private beach, making up the space which was once used for the pier and the marina. The cafe and the hotel near the main road remained, but there was an introduction of a car park, which was placed to the west of the hotel. The majority of trees and dunes were still sustained in the western side. Additional wind turbines were built next to the coast, providing more energy to Felixstone.
