The maps depict the layout of Felixstone in the United Kingdom in 1967 and its configuration in 2001.
Overall, this area is situated along the southern coast and features a main road running from west to east, dividing the location into two distinct zones. Over the past 38 years, Felixstone has undergone significant changes – particularly in the southern area – with the addition of new tourism infrastructure, whereas the western area remained largely unchanged.
The high street was located in the center-northern section. On the eastern side of the street, a row of shops was replaced by a larger-scale block of apartments, while a few additional shops were incorporated into the existing row on the opposite side. Further east, the farmland was cleared completely to accommodate a hotel complex, including a swimming pool, two tennis courts and accommodation facilities. Notably, the golf course was preserved unchanged.
South of the main road, a significant change was recorded. The fish market to the east was demolished to make way for a private beach, which occupied approximately one-third of the southern area. A public beach was established to the west of the private beach, occupying the space previously used by the pier and the marina. The cafe and the hotel near the main road remained, but a car park was introduced to the west of the hotel. Most of the trees and dunes were retained on the western side, while additional wind turbines were installed next to the coast.
