The maps illustrate how recent archaeological discoveries at a historic site changed between 2004 and 2014 .
Overall , what is most striking when looking at the maps is that the area underwent a substantial transformation, primarily characterized by the excavation and uncovering of several ancient structures and public facilities. Meanwhile, the original woodland was considerably reduced, whereas the existing ancient temple and coastline remained unchanged. Most notably, the present residential area in the northeast was significantly expanded.
Looking at the left-hand side of the map, initially, in 2004, the western area was largely covered by trees. However, by 2014, the woodland had been considerably reduced to make way for newly uncovered structures. Specifically, an ancient stadium was unearthed in the northwest corner, directly above the remaining woodland. To the east of the stadium, an ancient toilet, which was divided into separate sections for men and women, was also discovered. Further south, an ancient palace was excavated near the centre of the map.
Turning to the remaining parts of the map, the mountain range in the northeast was fully excavated, a cluster of ancient houses was uncovered in this area, bringing the total number of houses from three in 2004 to eight in 2014. In contrast, the ancient temple located further south remained completely unchanged throughout the period. Similarly, the coastline bordering the sea along the far right edge of the map retained its original condition without any modification.
