Overall, Felixstone underwent various modifications with the most prominent alterations being the addition of recreational facilities and accommodation along with the disappearance of Marina pier. Furthermore, Felixstone became more environmentally-friendly with the installation of wind turbines and the extension of nature, resulting in the diminished space for sand dunes correspondingly.
In 1967, Felixstone had been underdeveloped and pristine with few facilities and the spate of natural features. Notably, Felixstone had been separated by a street running from East to West, diving Felixstone into two distinct areas. With regard to the upper part, there had been a huge farmland located in the far east while a golf course had been established in the far west. In central area, two lines of shops that had been connected by a highway faced opposite each other. Concerning the lower section, there had been only a fish market situated in the northeastern corner while sand dunes on the western side of Felixstone extended longitudinally and some trees had been grown in a close proximity to them. In the middle, a couple of establishments including hotel, café stood close to Marina Pier where a ladder had been set up to improve accessibility from land to sea.
Over the next 34 years, Felixstone witnessed significant adjustments. Concerning the upper side, the large farmland was transformed into a modernized area with two tennis courts, a hotel and an outdoor swimming pool. Similarly, the row of stores nearby was repurposed into apartments to accommodate increased population whereas the western golf course remained intact. Moving to the lower part of Felixstone, the Marina pier was knocked down, paving way for a cluster of amenities including hotel, café, car park and public beach while the area once featured the fish market was turned into private beach. Strikingly, the stretch of multiple sand dunes was shortened to make way for green technologies-wind turbines and the number of trees planted increased, adding natural beauty to Felixstone.
