Looking at the illustration, it is immediately evident that some old features were still there, whereas others, such as farmland, had all gone. Additionally, over the span of thirty-four years, the city had undergone dramatic transformations, with several large changes including infrastructure, housing areas, and amenities.
In 2001, the golf course and the shops remained unchanged, as did the dunes, the cafe, and the high street. However, in the north of the city, the main street was divided into two sides with shops on each side, and the two shops that were parallel to each other in 1967 were demolished to make way for apartments. Similarly, farmland in the northeast of the city, as well as the fish market, marina, and pier in the southeast, were cleared, and a swimming pool, hotel, and two tennis courts were erected in the northeast; in the southeast, a private beach was built.
By that year, changes had been made to other features, the most noticeable of which was an extension of the wind turbines running through the UK city of Felixstone from the southwest. While the hotel situated in the center of the city and near the cafe car park was removed, the previous hotel had a car park next door, and now it extends to the dunes.
