Overall, the change in the neighborhood was significant as there were more businesses, more housing, and greater public services in 2020.
Business and housing saw the most change and growth. The Tulebug Bros. cannery present in 1920 was replaced by an office complex called Yang. Two of the houses near the Elmwood river were demolished, one became an apartment complex and one replaced by a road. Sawry District went from having only two houses, one shop near Oak Avenue to having three houses, two shops and an apartment.
The change in public services was less significant than the change in housing and businesses. Prestwich Primary school was destroyed and replaced by Lonoco Petrol Station. The school was rebuilt bigger after it was destroyed. And Elmwood River gained a bridge and a bike path, the latter of which changed the small beach in 1920.
