Overall, it is clearly seen that a comparison of the maps reveals the modifications from industrial to a mainly residential area with greater and commercial facilities.
In details, in 1920, Sawry District was a much greener residential area with a lot of trees, Elmwood River and an Oak Avenue dividing it into northern and Southern parts. However, in the next 1 century, the neighbourhood experienced several dramatic alterations in both parts. To the north-east of the river, a new bridge was built to make a way for the dwellers. Furthermore, the Tulebug Cannery factory, situated close to the Elmwood River, likely played a significant role for providing employment was converted into Yang Office Complex.
Further developments occured in the southern part of the neighbourhood. One of the most notable change in the area was the shops that sprang up in the center, between high-rise buildings and houses for the convenience of customers. Additionally, the grenn fields were demolished by indigenous community to relocate the Prestwich Primary school. Instead previous space of the school replaced with Lonoco Petrol Station.
