The diagram below illustrates the layout of the library in 2004 and in 2014.

The 2004 plan demonstrated a lack of open space. For instance, there were narrow walkways between bookshelves and study areas. Similarly, the computer corner was located very close to fiction books. Seats situated in the centre also created a limited space visually.

Conversely, the 2014 example had implemented significant changes. Bookshelves were sorted into 2 stands and relocated more in the central area. The video and CDs desk were removed and renovated into a Self-service issue machine, which provided more space in the room. The children’s area and displays remained in the same place; however, computers were added to the children’s room. Additionally, the study area and issue desk were transformed into a quiet area with a partition. Finally, entrance was extended and provided an access for disabled individuals.

Overall, the 2014 layout ensured a library with more open space. In comparison with the 2004 plan it made the facility more convenient due to the automatic book borrowing system and increased number of computers for both adults and children.
