The diagram below compares the Trentville Town Centre lay out in 1966 and 2016.
As pictured at the diagrams below, the Trentville Town Centre is located between George Street and Elizabeth Street. It can be seen that there have been many changes to Trentville Town Centre over the course of fifty years. The usage alteration of spaces were due to diversification of the amenities the town centre has to offer. For example, in 1966 there were not any casino, hotel and restaurant, while in 2016 there were built already. There is one notable difference in the town centre, where in 2016, the once separate museum, gallery, and library have melded into one space, where the gallery was located in 1966.
Initially, on the northside of George Street, once was the place for the church. In 2016, the place has been commandeered to become a restaurant. The cinema in 1966 has also turned into a subway station in 2016. Adjacent to the cinema in 1966 was the amphitheatre, which unfortunately was also turned into a car park in 2016. It can be observed that in both years, there have always been structures and buildings in the middle of the gardens. In 1966, there stood a library in the east side piazza and a museum on the south. The gardens that covered the whole south and east side of the town centre in 1966 had been reduced to primarily reside on the southeast side of town. The reduction took place because there was a land expansion to build a casino and a hotel, as it can be seen in the 2016 map. While the once museum was turned into a restaurant.
However, while there have may been numerous alterations, some structures and spaces remained the same in 2016, just as it was in 1956. To start with, in the northside of the town centre, a tower has remained standing from 1966 until the present day. The town centre also have always boasts a piazza right in the heart of the centre. To add to that, although it had seen a reduction in space, the gardens have always covered the south of the town centre. Lastly, the space in the centre have always been home to a shopping and dining district. But it still observed slight changes. In 1966 there were antique shops in cafes, while in 2016 there were boutique shops and eatery.
