The given diagrams illustrate a cycle of life and reproduction of salmon which is known for its vast size.
The images show 3 eras of evolution, starting with egg placement and ending with a mature and large salmon which is approximately 70-76 cm.
Initially, the venture stars in an upper river that moves gradually and the salmon eggs grow for about 5 to 6 months until the egg becomes a 3-8 cm long ‘fry’. Before the growth, eggs are surrounded by reeds and multiple petite stones. Subsequently, little fishes undergo a 4 year growth in lower and fast flowing river.
Having grown, the second phase of the cycle starts as the fish turns into a ‘smolt’ whose size is 12 to 15 cm. Next, an ocean becomes the habitat of ‘smolt’ for a half decade. After transforming into an ‘adult salmon’, the eggs are being produced by them. Therefore, the cycle continues the same way and the life span of salmon is at around 9 and a half years long.
