The given diagram illustrates the life cycle of salmon
. Overall, it can be seen that the process by which life cycle of salmon is a multi-step process, which consists of four main stages, beginning with salmon eggs and ending with adult salmon.
The salmon lays its egg in the upper river, where the water is slow moving. The egg is raised in the cover of reeds and small stones for approximately half an hour, after which the eggs hatch into fry, which are 3 to 8 cm in length. These fry lives in the lower river, where the water is fast flowing or estuary for almost four years. After that, the fry grow bigger and now called small, which are 12 to 15 cm in length.
In the subsequent stage, the small then lives in the pen sea, which is their home for the next five years. Eventually, the adult salmon gets its full size, which is 70 to 76 cm. They spend about five years there, the salmon back to its birth place to lay its eggs, and the entire journey is repeated all over again.
