The illustration represents the steps involved in the procedures for recycling plastic bottles. Overall, there are nine steps to convert a plastic bottle into usable materials. The main steps are collection, sorting, breaking down, and production of recycled products.
The process begins with the disposal of plastic bottles. Subsequently, the disposed bottles are collected by the truck to transfer the collection to the recycling centre, where the bottles undergo sorting. In the following step, the bottles are compressed into blocks, which are then passed through a machine for crushing. The crushed pieces are thoroughly washed and transferred to a system to generate plastic pellets.
Subsequent to the step of pellet generation, the pellets are heated to transform them into new raw materials. The raw material generated is further used for the making of new products such as pencils, lunch boxes, bags, shirts, and new bottles. Furthermore, these products will go through the same cycle.
