The two maps illustrate the comparison of a library’s layout over five years. Overall, it is clear that the arrangement of the library almost remained unchanged with a minor change in the line department, while some facilities and extra service had been added.
Regarding the left-hand side, three rooms were arranged adjacent to each other as classrooms, meeting rooms and tables borrowed and returned five years ago. However, the size of the borrowing and returning desk has been reduced to divide into two separate rooms nowadays. In addition, the meeting room still retains its function and location, while the classroom has been converted into a recording studio.
Regarding the central part in the past, two bookshelves were placed opposite each other at both ends of the library, while in the middle was a study area consisting of four large rectangular tables. Currently, the book shelves below the rows of desks are replaced with the desks for student’s laptops. Besides, the studying tables not only become private, but also increase from four to six.
Finally, the plan sees noticeable changes in the area on the left while the library located at the end of the corner has been removed to accommodate meetings. The desk for the computer then has been modified to be similar to the desk in the central part.
