Overall, what stands our from the maps it that the museum underwent significant redevelopment, becoming more modern and visitor-oriented.
In 1957, the museum was relatively simple structure. It consists mainly of a national history exhibition, local history room and museum store-room, all was connected to entrance hall. The surrounding area was occupied by a garden with numerous of trees, and access to museum was provided by a path leading from the road
By 2007, museum was considerably expanded and redesigned. The interior was divided into multiple specialised areas including museum shop, reception, café, local history room, special exhibitions and education centre.
Externally, part of the garden was retained, although some trees were removed to make space for new infrastructure. A car park was added to the right of the building, and the entrance was simplified, providing more direct access from the road.
