The first table depicts the data about alterations of New York City’s complete population density in the years Of 1800,1900, and 2000. Changes of population in the five districts of this city are revealed in the second and third tables respectively during the same period of years.
It is clear that the population of New York City increased dramatically. Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island’s population rate rose noticeably during the given period whereas Manhattan’s population decreased gradually.
Before reaching 3,437,202 in 1900, initial residents of New York City had been in a low rank with 79,216. In 2000, this city witnessed a double increase of the previous rate with 8,009,185 Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten Island’s population also rose significantly from 24% to 81% over the period, in 1800 with 18,701 residents, reached at 1,587,109 residents in 1900.Moreover noticeable change took place in the final year with the rose of 6,471,089 contributing a large proportion of population to the city.
Interestingly, population of Manhattan was more than these rest of the districts in the beginning of the year with 60,515, it went down from 76% to 19% in the 2000, mirorring almost opposite trend to other districts.
