The flowchart illustrates the implemented check out procedure of a newly opened retail outlet.
Overall, the process begins with greeting the customer and consists various actions throughout and very few key decision points. In total, the procedure includes about 9/10 stages and terminates with customer being thanked.
At the very beginning, a pleasant greeting is displayed by the corresponding staff towards the customer. Followed by scanning goods that the customer wishes to purchase. After that, staff calculates and informs the buyer about the summed bill to be paid. Here lies a decision scenario where the buyer is supposed to select either credit card or cash as the respective payment method. In the case, where credit card is chosen the payment procedure continues by scanning the card and another desicion point arises where acceptance results with providing receipt and rejection concludes with cash as the payment option.
In the opposite scenario, where buyer opts for cash as payment procedure. Staff receives the respective amount of cash and prints corresponding receipt to the customer. Followed by a departing gesture.
