Overall, it is notable that flats were the most popular accommodation in London, whereas detached houses recorded the highest proportion of British preference in Cambridge. Semi-detached houses showed the similar preference in both Oxford and Cambridge, while the figure of people interested in terraced houses remained relatively stable across three cities.
With regard to the percentage of London residents who preferred living in flats was approximately 58%, representing the highest compared with other cities, while only one-fifth of Cambridge residents preferred staying in flats, representing the lowest. Terraced houses were chosen from the British by around 20% across three cities.
On the other hand, the share of people who favored detached houses in Cambridge made up the largest proportion of this type at 34%, followed by Oxford and London at 25% and 8%, respectively. As for semi-detached houses, Oxford and Cambridge had the similar preference level at 25%, whereas London reported the lowest figure, making it the least dominant option which is around 16%.
