In general, it is obvious that the town centre has seen a dramatic change and become a more modern urban area. Several facilities and a lot of houses have been added, while some places have been converted.
Looking at the maps in more detail, in 1700, there was a hotel, a church and the market square in the right middle of town. In the south of the map, there were stables and two houses. Meanwhile, a bridge crossing the river and a steggle farm were built on the left side. Additionally, goode farm was located in the north, while there were shops, fields and a house in the south and south-east of the map.
Regarding the town centre today, the right middle has changed slightly, the old hotel has become bigger . On the right side, stables have been replaced with a block of flats and there are a lot of additional houses. Additionally, a supermarket has been built in the south-east. Meanwhile, many new houses and a large car park were constructed. Moreover, the row of shops has been extended with many new houses.
