The pie chart and table illustrate the handling of dangerous waste by Malaysia, the USA, and the UK. The pie chart gives information about three major actions for handling the waste: landfill, recycling, and disposal. The table displays the waste information sorted by product type and amount.
Each country has a different pattern in waste management. Malaysia and the UK have the same percentage of disposed waste of 45%. However, the UK has half of Malaysia’s landfill waste. The recycling trend is the most popular in the UK at 40%, decreased by 10% in the USA, and a quarter in Malaysia. In the USA, the landfill waste is at its peak, followed by recycling and disposal.
There are four categories of waste of concern: industrial chemicals, clinical waste, electronic waste, and plastic bags. In 2000, the USA was the largest producer of all the waste types with a total of 152 million tons, followed by Malaysia, and the last was the UK.
