The table demonstrates the data about people count from 5 different European countries (British, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain) living in each other’s countries in 2011.
At the first glance, it is clear that the largest group living abroad was Polish people, whereas Spanish accounted the smallest number living outside. The total numbers for British and Germany residents abroad were also quite similar.
Turning to the details, nearly half of million Polish (550 000) people lived in British in 2011, while only 86 000 Polish resided in Spanish. In contrast, only 170 Spanish citizens lived in Polish. Moreover, majority (112 000) of Spanish resided in Germany, which was the highest proportion for this category.
Total number of British and Germany residents abroad accounted similar results, at 524 760 and 539 000 respectively. While the largest number of British lived in Spanish, numbering 391 000 people, 297 000 citizens of Germany resided in British. Compared to only 670 Italian living in the Polish, which accounted lowest proportion from total people count, 556 000 Italian people lived in Germany, highest number across all groups.
