The given bar chart demonstrates the average weekly expenditures of families in XXX in 1968 and 2018, across 8 various categories. The data are presented in percentage.
It is clearly seen that food, housing, transport, and leisure are the categories that underwent the most significant changes in the period in question. In 1968, the greatest share of the income, 35 % of all family profits, was spent on food, while in 2018, the amount of the family income spent on food accounted for just a bit above 15 per cent, which made less than half of the same expenditure in 1968. Leisure, on the other hand, represents the other extremity as the expenditures grew considerably within the five decades from roughly 10 per cent in 1968 to over 20 per cent in 2018. The amount of income spent weekly on housing, clothing and footwear, as well as personal goods and transport nearly doubled as well within the period mentioned.
Other expenditures, such as fuel and power, and household goods remained relatively the same.
