Overall, it is clear that the percentage of student that had the highest economic background was from mediocore income, while family student with the little income encompossed the lowest number from the all three status levels. However, the total students was upward trend between 1991 and 2001, and the number of funding that government gives to each student dropped over the period.
Regarding the number of students in 1991, the percentage of students that had the middel economic background was the highest number of students, which was 62%. This was followed by students with the high income (30%) and low economic status, accounted by 8%.
However, the total number of students at university in the UK increased from 1,100,000 people in 1991 to 2,000,000 people in 2001, where it peaked at 2,1 million people in 1999. Additionally, the number of funding that government provided to each student in UK declined from 6,500 pounds (1991) to 4750 pounds (2001).
