Overall, it is evident that the UK is experiencing a decline in number of tourists over each subsequent year. Contrastingly, the number of tourists visiting India is on rise.
It is noticed that 42% of tourists visited the UK in 1995 but, only 20% of visitors visited India that year. However, UK experienced a sharp decline of 10% subsequent year, and India surpassed the UK with a lead of 3%.
In the 2005, both the UK and India experienced a decline of 18% and 3%, respectively. The UK continued to follow the same trajectory in 2010 reaching at it’s lowest point of only 12%. However, the people visiting India increased dramatically in 2010 reaching a peak of 50%. It is observed that India is gaining popularity among the visitors as a favourable tourist destination.
