I’m writing to you to express my dissatisfaction with the plan to demolish the historic mosque in our city Damnhour.

This mosque has a big history behind its construction, so it’s very important for all inhabitants. It’s one of the first mosques built all over Egypt by muslims during the islamic opening.

The main construction elements of this mosque are still intact. What the building needs is just some makeover for its appearance to match with the new building around it without damaging its historical value.

This mosque is very valuable to all of us living in the city. Its great location in the center of the city makes it easy to reach it from almost any side of the city. People come to pray in it and have sessions for teaching Islam. Visitors from other cities also come to this mosque due to its historical value. So there are great benefits from keeping this mosque either for the people from our city or for others.
