The linegraph illustrates the propotion of unemployed workers over all workers in the European Union in three different categories, including Professional, Manual and Self-employed from 1990 to 1999
Overall, the figures for self-employed, manual and all workers witnessed upward trends, while the percentage of the profession category tended to stay unchanged during the period. Evidently, the figure for the professional workers was always lower than those of three other groups.
In 1990, the percentage of the manual workers stood at around 7% and was the highest number, followed by the self-employed workers (6%). Then, the figure for manual group recorded a slight increase to 9% in 1992, before rocketing and reaching a peak at around 14%, then declining dramatically to roughly 8% in 1996 and ending at approximately 10% in 1999. For manual workers, the percentage for it declined slight to 4%, then going up considerably to around 12.5% and remaining unchanged in the last period.
For all workers category, the figure for it decreased and increased continuously, then ending at 2% in 1999, the same as that of in 1990. When it comes to all workers, the propotion for that group fell slowly to 4%, before grow remarkably to 12% in 1997 and decreasing gradually to 1999 in the end of the graph.
