On the other hand, Malaysia showed a consistent increase, reaching a predicted percentage of over 80 of citizens by 2040.
Regarding Thailand and Indonesia, which started with lower percentages, less than 20 and about 15 respectively in 1970. Both countries followed a similar trend of increasing to reach the same percentage of about 28 in 2000, with a prediction for both countries to continue increasing the overall percentage of people.
