The graph displays data about the percentage of people who live in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia from 1970 to 2040.
Overall, the percentage of the population in all four Asian countries is increasing, even though some are growing faster and some more slowly.
Malaysia is increasing intensively and will have the highest percentage by 2040; it is around 80 percent of humans living in cities. Indonesia started at 10 percent and then rose similarly to Malaysia, reaching 60 percent. But Malaysia started with a larger quantity; that is why it will have the maximum percentage.
The Philippines and Thailand are increasing slowly and will have approximately the same percentage of the total population by 2040—approximately 45 and 50 percent. However, Thailand began with a smaller quantity than the Philippines—10 percent less. The Philippines showed a good percentage until 1990, then decreased and lost 10 percent by 2010. However, it is predicted that by 2040 the Philippines will have 50 percent of the total population living in cities
