The line chart below compares the changes of the number of participants joining five different activities at a social center in Melbourne, Australia from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, while only amateur dramatics had a downward trend, the number of people joined table tennis and musical performances increased overtime with film club and martial art having fluctuated trend.
Among the examined categories, table tennis, musical performance and amateur dramatic began with the lowest numbers. In 2000, there was no performer for musical performance, this continue until after 2005, when there were more than 10 joiners of the musical performance. Its popularity increased steadily until reaching about 15 players in 2020. This, however, was lower than the number for table tennis, which started at roughly 15 people and fluctuated to 20 in 2010, when it caught up with amateur dramatics, and significantly grew to approximately 54 in 2020. Conversely, the amateur dramatics also initiated with a low number at around 25 people joined in 2000, but lost its interests in the later years and constantly dropped to under 5 participants in 2020.
In terms of the remaining groups, they fluctuated throughout the given period. Film club began with the highest number of players, compared to the other, at about 63 in 2000, it subsequently dipped into its bottom at 60 in 2010, and climbed up again to over 63 in 2020. Regarding the martial art, its initiation was at roughly 38 in 2000 and fluctuated throughout the remaining years until reaching the same number at beginning in 2020.
