The line graph illustrates the number of passenger travelled through national railway network, London underground, Light rail, and metro systems in the Great Britain form 1950 to 2004/05. This figure was measured in millions.
Overall, the highest number of passenger was travelled by National rail network while the lowest number of passenger was travelled through light rail and metro systems over the period. Meanwhile, London underground showed an increase trend over the period with slight fluctuations.
According to the data given in the line graph, the highest number of passenger was recorded in National rail network and this figure stood at 1000 millions in 1950 but afterwards, it showed a decline trend with erratic decreasing pattern. However, London underground railway uses was remained at around 700 million in 1950. It is noticeable that there is no light rail and metro systems passenger is 1950 but in 1960 10 millions of passenger was recorded in light rail and metro systems. In contrast, light rail and metro systems showed a sharp increasing trend through out the period and at the end of the period 240 millions passengers was recorded in 2004/05. Further, 800 millions passenger was recorded in both national railway network, and London underground in 1990/91. Furthermore, both national railway network, and London underground showed an similar rose pattern from 1990/91 to 2004/05 with slight changes.
