The charts illustrate the number of men and women who were active in 6 job categories in 1975 and 1995. The data is gathered from the country of Freedonia.
It can be seen that in 1975 male workers used to outnumber female workers in all sections. In addition, the overall employment rate rose significantly in nearly all fields including communications and public sector.
The quantity and the ratio of men and women engaged in manufacturing remained the same with nearly 300 thousand women and 700 thousand man. This is the case also with non-defense division of public service where around 650 thousand females and 850 male employees are reported to be working.
In two fields, namely communications and wholesale and retail trade, women predominated men by 350 thousand 100 thousand respectively in 1995 while in 1975 more men used to be occupied in these sectors compared to women. Additionally, although more women were hired in the banking and in defense section, men maintained their dominance with roughly 200 thousand in the defense and 400 thousand in banking in both years.
