The line chart demonstrates how the share of vehicle registrations changed in three most ubiquitous kinds of commercial vehicles in the US from 1970 to 2010. Overall, it can be seen that the percentage of the truck and bus declined gradually, while that of the taxi showed a steady increase during the period.
Looking at the graph closely, it is evident that the proportion of the truck was the highest, at nearly 50% in 1970, while the figure for the taxi was nearly a half of the truck, at 22%. Noticeably, the rate of the bus was reported to experience the lowest percentage, at 5%.
Moreover, after 10 years, the percentage of the truck and the taxi witnessed opposite trends to each other, at 30% and 35%, respectively. In addition, from 1980 to 2010, the figure for the truck soared by 15% for the rest of the period. Meanwhile, in 1980, the ratio for the taxi to the bus was 2:1; however, the bus was reported to shrink gradually and the rate of bus still remained after having a significant fluctuation in 2010.
