The chart depicts how people consumed energy by fuel in USA from 1978 to nowdays with predictions until 2038.

Overall, all of illustrated trends are growing overall, except hydropower consumption, which stays stable with slight fluctuations from about 1988 to 2013.

The most unpopular energy sources are nuclear, solar and wind, and hydropower, they are always under 10 quadrillion units. It is progected that nuclear and solar&wind will have a minor increace, starting in 2033.

The midle group consist of coal and natural gas consumpion. The coal have a sharp rise in 1988 from approximately 16 quadrillion units to 23 quadrillion units. Natural gas was more in demand than gas in 1978 (20 quadrillion units against 15.2). However, after 2018, when they were the same, coal concumption showes a steady growth (from 25 quadrillion units in 2018 to 30 in 2038 ), while natural gaces showes a plateau.

Finnaly, the most significant one is petrol and oil, made up 35 quadrillion units in 1978 and 50 quadrillion units in 2038, while the second (coal and natural gas) made up 20 quadrillion units and 30 appropriately.
