Overall, Switzerland and Iceland had the highest employment rate by two genders in both years, while the female workers in Australia and New Zealand was accounted for the lowest percentage. However, the male employment rate is higher than female throughout the period in all countries, whereas the female employment rate increased significantly in 2005.
For male employment rates, the figure in 2005 was more than in 1995, also the percentage of workers was over 70% in all countries. Iceland had 70% of male workers and 82% of male workers from 1995 to 2005, with the highest proportion, while the figure for it in Australia and the UK showed the lowest in 1995, at 56% in both countries. Conversely, other countries such as Switzerland, the USA, and New Zealand were over 60% of mela workers in 1995.
For female employment rates, on the other hand, below 30% of women had a work in Australia and New Zealand in 1995, while the women’s workers in Switzerland and the UK was 50% to 56%. Despite the percentage of female staffs experienced an upward trend in all countries, whereas the figure in Australia and New Zealand still remain the lower percentage compare to another, at 39% and 40% respectively.
