The given chart illustrates percentages of waste recycled in 3 catagories: plastic, cans, paper and meatal in a town during 2000 to 2010.
Overall, it is evident that the trend of waste recyled exhibited a steady increase in every types of waste. And compared to others, cans waste and metal waste had a much more signficant increase in recycled rate.
In 2000, each type of waste displayed a similar recycled rate, at around 10% each. However, in the years coming later, the gap of the rate emerged. For paper waste and metal waste, the rate surged steadily and steeply, which had increased approximately 20% and 30% seperately during the 10-year period. In terms of plastic waste, the varifying pattern was quite similar to former two types, though its recycled rate was rather lower, with a peak at around 25%.
Reagarding the situation of cans recycling, the recycled rate had a slight decline between 2000 and 2005, whereas it surged significantly in the later 5-year period and had overnumberd the conterparts of paper waste in 2005.
