Overall, the statistics shows that people in Germany spent the greatest amount of money on books. What is more, comparing 1995 and 2005, people from all the countries started to spent more money on books.
The Germans expenses on books started at 80 million and in 1995 and increased to 90 million in 1999. Consequently, it fell down to approximately 85 million in 2003. Then it rose dramatically by 2005, facing its peak at barely 95 million. As for French people, they started at the point of 55 million in 1995 and were increasing slightly till 2005 with 75 million. Italians were at the highest point in 2005 with barely 60 million and at the lowest in 1999 with 50 million. Austrians started at 30 million. Furthermore, the amount of money spent on books increased to 40 million by 1999. Then there were no changes till 2001. Hereafter, the statistics went up rapidly with its peak of a little more than 70 million in 2005.
