The line graph breaks down the money spent on books in four countries between 1995 and 2005.
Germany was the dominant country during the period in terms of the quantity of funding for books.
Looking at the graph in detail, in 1995, roughly 55 and 30 million were spent on books in France and Austria, respectively. These figures witnessed significant increases in the next few years, except for the statistics between 1999 and 2001 in Austria, which remained unchanged. Consequently, their funding for purchasing books was almost equal at the end of the period, with a margin of about 2 million, constituting 75 and 72 million, respectively.
Germany and Italy faced several fluctuations in the past few years. Starting with 80 million dollars buying this item, its numbers rose gradually by 1999; the next four years, it experienced a decline of about 5 million dollars; after 2003, it went up noticeably to approximately 95 million dollars in buying books. The figure for Italy was 50 million in 1995, soaring moderately until the end of the period, except for the years between 1997 and 1999. And Italy invested over 60 million in buying books in 2005.
