Overall, it is clear that the trend varies in the given period. Wind energy was the highly invested sector, except in 2011, while the lowest investment was on the energy smart technologies.
It is evident that the UK invested a significant proportion in wind energy and largest of all was in 2015, at about 10 billion pounds. However, in 2011, the United Kingdom invested a marginally increased amount on solar and other fields, which surpassed the wind energy. The data shows that the investment in solar energy did not start until 2010, at about 1 billion pounds. It rose to 3 billion pounds and remained constant until 2013. The investment increased once again in 2014 and declined in 2015, at about 4 billion pounds and 3.5 billion pounds respectively. The United Kingdom invested in other sectors, making it the third most invested area, when compared. Solar energy and other energy had an equal amount of investment in 2011, at about 3 billion pounds. The clean energy investment provided a small amount for energy smart technologies, making it the least invested field over the given period.
